1)I personally believe that it is not true. I say this because many people say something that may be funny but it wasn't there intentional way to make someone laugh. I have actually done this before when I fell down. People starting laughing but it was not intentional.

2)Since Abbott and Costello are comedians, all of their jokes are a routine to make people laugh. Therefore it is intentional for them to make jokes.
